Download either gnuplot-py-1.8.tar.gz or Gnuplot-1.8.zip. Gunzip and untar (or unzip) it, which will create a directory called gnuplot-1.8. Refer to README.txt in that directory for further instructions. Usually it should be enough to type python setup.py install. You can also access the latest Gnuplot.py sources via Subversion. I just updated my versions of Maxima, wxMaxima, and gnuplot on my Mac (now running OS 10.12.2 Sierra), but I am unclear how to plot using the external gnuplot-qt window using draw2d. (I can get inline plots using wxdraw2d() with no difficulty.)
In the past, I had to open X11 before entering a plotting command (like draw2d) in wxMaxima. Do I need to do something similar now? If so, what?
